Needle in a haystack is a proverb about a search that looks hopeless, and these browser games take it literally: you dig through a giant pile of hay or straw until you uncover one tiny needle. Most of them build a loop around the dig. You sell what you collect, buy better tools and a bigger backpack, and chase your fastest time. These are separate browser games, each with its own rules and controls. They run on Nub Games without a download. Most use WASD or the arrow keys and the mouse; on a phone, an on-screen joystick.
Find the Needle has you clear hay layer by layer and spend your earnings in the shops. Search for the Needle! is a farm story where the needle starts a car, and Search For The Needle has dynamite, vacuums, drones, character classes and a first-person or third-person view. Search for the Needle Obby has a level map, helpers and world leaderboards, Needle in a Haystack! (Online) lets you search with friends, and Needle in a Haystack: Find It! has bombs and time records. Needle In A Haystack Simulator is a first-person search with four difficulty levels, from 4,000 to 25,000 straws. The notes under the cards come from the publishers' descriptions.
