Finding games…
Halloween games bring pumpkins, ghosts, witches and costumes into the browser. This page collects free games with a Halloween or spooky-season theme, from short merge and match puzzles to dress-up, coloring, haunted-house escapes and ghost hunts.
The list is hand-picked rather than pulled from a tag. We started with games that name Halloween in the title or in their own description, then added ghost, witch, vampire, skeleton and pumpkin games. The catalog's Halloween tag alone was not enough: several tagged games have nothing seasonal in them, so they are not listed here.
What you will find: merge, match and tile puzzles with monsters and pumpkins in place of the usual pieces; costume dress-up and Halloween coloring with no timer; Sprunki Halloween music mixes; ghost hunts, haunted-manor escapes and spirit scanners that lean on observation more than reflexes; and witch, pumpkin and vampire games, from potion shops to pumpkin defense.
A Halloween theme is not an age rating. Some games here are gentle coloring or tile puzzles; others use chase scenes, monsters or mild scares. This list leaves out games labeled 16+ or 18+. For everything else, read the age label and description on the game page before you start, especially when choosing for a younger player.
For scarier picks, see Scary Horror Games. This page keeps the same address all year.
A Halloween game is built around the holiday's imagery: pumpkins, ghosts, witches, vampires, costumes or haunted houses. On this page that covers seasonal editions of merge, match and dress-up games as well as ghost hunts and haunted-house puzzles. Some borrow horror pacing, so read each game's age label and description before you start.
Yes. Every game on this page opens in your browser with no download. Some games include optional in-game purchases; when they do, the game details on its page say so. Check that, along with the age label, before you press play.
Use the age label on each game page: this list includes games marked 0+, 6+ and 12+ and leaves out anything labeled 16+ or 18+. Coloring, tile and merge games with Halloween art tend to be calmer than ghost hunts and chase games, but the label and description matter more than the theme.
Many of them work on phones and tablets. Use the Mobile-friendly filter above the list to keep games that mark mobile support, then check the controls on the game screen. Touch controls differ from game to game, and a few titles are easier with a keyboard.
Halloween games are defined by the holiday's imagery and often stay playful, while horror games aim at fear itself. Some titles fit both lists. For tension-first picks with survival and jump-scare formats, see Scary Horror Games and check the age label of each game.
